I decided to do the 30 Day Challenge for the challenge itself. I wanted to put myself to the test and see if I could actually complete it. I also did it to celebrate being six years smoke free. I know I couldn't have even attempted the challenge six years ago.
The first 10 days were easy; my flexibility improved, my skin was glowing and I had more energy. It was smooth sailing. Much to my disbelief it got progressively harder from there. I got stiff and my balance was way off. My body started having strange aches in places I had never experienced before.
Day 22 was my lowest point having just completed 6 classes in 4 days. I was knackered! I refused to give up though and never allowed that thought to enter my mind. I had the 30th day in my sights and I was determined to finish. Although I feel as though I dragged myself to the finish line I did complete my 30 day challenge on the 29 April, 2011. And what an achievment it was! I have never attempted such a thing in my life and I am proud of my efforts.
I have taken so much away from this experience. It has been a total rejuvenation of my mind, body and soul. I have a much deeper understanding of my own physiology and a more intimate knowledge of who I truly am. As Goethe said "Whatever you think you can do or believe you can do, begin it. Action has magic, grace and power in it." Give it a go!
